We Specialize in Cardiac Rhythm Disorders
Dr. Rachita Navara is a triple-board certified heart rhythm cardiologist trained at top institutions including UCSF (the birthplace of catheter ablation for arrhythmias), Stanford Medicine, Washington University in St. Louis, and University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. With a strong background in both electrophysiology and bioengineering, she possesses a unique set of skills that allow her to offer a wide range of advanced procedures and treatments to her patients.
Dr. Navara serves as supervising physician for a Medicare-approved Independent Diagnostic Treatment Facility (IDTF) that enables participating physicians to perform and collect for studies for remote cardiac monitoring devices (e.g. Holters, Loop Recorders, Event Monitors, Mobile Cardiac Telemetry).
Throughout her career, Dr. Navara has gained expertise in various cardiac electrophysiology procedures, including:
1. Catheter Ablation: She performs catheter ablation procedures to treat arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, and ventricular tachycardia. Her precision and understanding of electrophysiological mapping techniques ensure accurate targeting and successful ablation.
2. Device Implantation: Dr. Navara has extensive experience in implanting and managing cardiac devices like pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices. She tailors device selection to meet each patient’s specific needs.
3. Lead Extraction: She offers lead extraction procedures for patients with malfunctioning or infected leads, using advanced techniques to ensure safety and optimize outcomes.
4. Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion: As part of stroke prevention strategies for patients with atrial fibrillation, she utilizes advanced techniques to safely and effectively close off the left atrial appendage, reducing the risk of stroke in these individuals.
5. Hybrid surgical ablation: Dr. Navara collaborates closely with cardiac surgeons to offer hybrid surgical ablation procedures. This approach combines minimally invasive catheter-based techniques with surgical interventions to treat complex cardiac arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation. By working together with the surgical team, she provides comprehensive and personalized treatment options for her patients.
6. Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy: Dr. Navara specializes in cardiac resynchronization therapy for patients with heart failure, using innovative techniques to improve heart function and enhance overall quality of life.
7. Remote Monitoring: She actively incorporates remote monitoring technology into her practice, allowing for convenient and efficient monitoring of patients with implanted devices, ensuring early detection of any abnormalities or concerns.
Dr. Navara’s commitment to staying at the forefront of advancements in the field of cardiac electrophysiology enables her to provide the highest quality of care to her patients. Referring cardiologists can trust in her expertise and the comprehensive range of procedures she offers to effectively manage and treat various cardiac rhythm disorders. She contributes to the latest practice advancements as a member of the American College of Cardiology Electrophysiology Leadership Council, as well as the Heart Rhythm Society Accreditation and Assessment Committee.
Dr. Navara is also an award-winning researcher and has been internationally recognized for her cardiac research, uncovering mechanisms of atrial fibrillation and novel noninvasive ablation using radiation therapy. She led multiple sub-studies of the prospective Phase I/II clinical trial ENCORE-VT, which led to a featured publication in Nature Communications and numerous first place awards through the Heart Rhythm Society and American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Navara serves as an invited expert reviewer for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), reviewing the latest cardiac devices and innovations. She runs clinical trials for cutting-edge heart rhythm technology she developed, and she has been trained on medical innovation through Stanford Biodesign, MIT Drug and Device Development, and numerous top startup accelerators in Silicon Valley. Her passion is to apply her clinical and engineering skills to transform cardiac care.
Dr. Navara is a recognized leader for the American College of Cardiology and the face of atrial fibrillation awareness.
